Multiple Suffer Injuries in Manchester Synagogue Stabbing Incident
Authorities reported that officers were dispatched at 9:31 a.m. local time to the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on Middleton Road, Crumpsall, following a call from a witness who observed a car being driven toward pedestrians and a man being stabbed.
Firearms officers arrived at the scene and fired their weapons at 9:38 a.m., targeting a man believed to be the attacker, police stated.
The police confirmed that four members of the public were injured by both the vehicle and stab wounds.
Earlier, the North West Ambulance Service issued a statement saying it was "assessing the situation and working with other members of the emergency services."
Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, speaking to media, urged people to avoid the area but assured that "the immediate danger appears to be over."
