Former CIA Director May Face Perjury Probe
This controversy alleged that Moscow attempted to sabotage Hilary Clinton’s failed presidential bid in favor of Donald Trump, as reported by various US news sources.
The current director of the US intelligence agency, John Ratcliffe, has asserted that high-ranking security officials distorted parts of the investigation initiated by then-President Barack Obama in 2016.
Critics from the Republican Party have persistently argued that the final report was driven by political bias and designed to undermine Trump’s initial term in office.
Meanwhile, Moscow has consistently denied meddling in the US election or “collaborating” with Trump’s campaign.
In a recent development, Ratcliffe made public an internal CIA review concerning the 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA).
Several media outlets suggest this document indicates that Brennan may have provided false testimony under oath during a confidential congressional session in 2017.
Such accusations have been circulating for several years.
A congressional insider, speaking to a news agency on Sunday, praised Ratcliffe, stating, “John Ratcliffe is a genius.
He just got career CIA officers to admit the 2016 ICA was corrupted and to offer up Brennan on a silver platter… The DOJ could have a field day with this.”
