Mercedes-Benz Sales See 9 Percent Drop
On Monday, Mercedes-Benz revealed that deliveries decreased to 547,100 units as the company strategically adjusted shipments to dealerships in response to shifting global trade regulations. This recalibration notably impacted passenger car sales in both the US and Chinese markets.
Light commercial vehicle sales also suffered, falling 10% to 93,400 units over the quarter.
Battery-electric vehicle (BEV) sales were hit hard, plunging 18% to just 41,900 units, reflecting challenges in the growing EV sector.
China, the luxury automaker’s largest market, experienced a steep 19% decline in sales, totaling 140,400 vehicles in Q2. The US market similarly saw a 12% reduction, with sales falling to 74,600 units.
Meanwhile, European sales bucked the downward trend with a 7% increase, and Germany posted a modest 1% rise in vehicle deliveries.
