Russia Renews Attack on Kyiv
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his condolences on X, stating, "Sadly, two people were reported killed in Kyiv — my condolences to their families and loved ones."
He also confirmed that 16 individuals had sustained injuries during the attack.
Zelenskyy asserted that the assault involved 18 missiles, including ballistic ones, and nearly 400 drones.
He added that the airstrike also targeted other regions across the country.
In his statement, the president described the attack as a "clear escalation of terror" and repeated Ukraine’s call for more swift and forceful sanctions against Moscow.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized the urgent need for more substantial international support, stressing the importance of faster action from Ukraine’s allies.
"There’s a need for quicker action from our partners in investing in weapons production and advancing technology," Zelenskyy said.
He also mentioned that he would be discussing with Ukraine’s partners later that day about securing additional funding for interceptor drone production and air defense systems to bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities.
Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported on Telegram that six districts of the capital were impacted by the airstrike.
According to Tkachenko, the attack specifically targeted vital infrastructure, including both residential and non-residential buildings.
