U.S. Rubio, French Foreign Minister Hold Talks on Key Issues

(MENAFN) U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation on Monday with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot to discuss a range of pressing regional and international issues.

According to a statement from State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, both leaders "reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring Iran never develops or acquires a nuclear weapon."

Bruce noted that the two officials also shared perspectives on the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at brokering a ceasefire in the war-torn region.

Additional matters on the agenda included the need to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict, advancing peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and addressing the sustained violence in Sudan, Bruce said.
