Kyrgyz President Mandates Parliamentary Vote for November 30
(MENAFN) Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov officially signed a decree on Tuesday calling for an early parliamentary election to be held on November 30. The announcement was confirmed by a statement from the presidency, which outlined that the decree mandates the Central Commission on Elections and Referenda to oversee the election process.
The decree also directs the Cabinet to allocate the necessary funds to facilitate the election, in line with the financial estimates provided by the electoral commission.
This move follows the Kyrgyz parliament's decision on September 25 to dissolve itself, citing the limited time between the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections. Supreme Council Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu had previously indicated that the parliamentary vote would take place on November 30, provided all procedural steps are completed.
Originally, the election was not set to occur until November 2026, with the presidential vote scheduled for January 2027.
